We are proud to announce the next exhibition at General Office will be John Myers’ celebrated collection of portrait photographs. Taken in the 1970s and 80s, these photographs have received international acclaim and we are delighted to exhibit this body of work in Stourbridge for the first time. Previous showings have included The Serpentine gallery, Ikon gallery and Kunsthalle, Germany. They were also exhibited in Arles Les Recontres de la Photographie, 2019 in an exhibition called ‘Home sweet Home’. The portraits are currently included in the exhibition ‘Facing Britain’, an extensive survey of British documentary photography over the past six decades, Facing Britain brings together – for the first time outside the U.K. – leading proponents of the genre. The first exhibition of its kind in Germany, the touring showcase – which is set to migrate from its origins at the Museum Goch and the Kunsthalle Darmstadt to Mönchehaus Museum Goslar and eventually Museum for Photography Krakow (Summer 2022).
