4-7pm Saturday 31st January
A celebratory evening concluding Petra Johnson’s Winter Residency here at GO
The exhibition will continue Wed-Sat 11-4pm until Saturday 14th February.
During her six-week residency, Petra has developed an exhibition titled A choreography of belonging: Spaces that call me ‘home’
This has involved collaborations with movement artist Dasha Machova and musician Sarah Lett. Together they have responded to installations within the gallery, gathering impressions and reflections on shared senses of rhythm, refrain and belonging.
The concluding exhibition is an immersive feast of film, sound and interactive installation.
Petra’s work is shared between the sites of General Office and Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge, and proceeds from questions around basic human movements: walking and spinning and the facilitation of these by the vestibular system and the inner ear. Investigations within the park will continue into the Spring and beyond.
