The Preview evening is on the 22nd August from 7pm-9pm
This exhibition showcases some of the finest examples of 20th-century glass from Stourbridge and the surrounding area regions renowned for their rich glassmaking heritage. It features works by prominent manufacturers, including Webb Corbett and Stevens & Williams, highlighting the innovation, craftsmanship, and design excellence that define this period.
This collection was kindly donated to Stourbridge Glass Museum by Maurice and Pauline Wimpory. Maurice was a highly regarded figure in the world of glass, known both as a passionate collector and a dedicated contributor to glass research. He served for many years as Treasurer and Membership Secretary of the Glass Society, playing an important role in supporting and promoting the field. Over decades, he built an impressive collection of 20th-century glass, with a particular focus on art-cut and designer-led pieces from across the UK and Europe.
This exhibition is part of a group of exhibitions in Stourbridge, August 2026, celebrating the legacy of the Glass Festival and includes Stourbridge Glass Museum, Blowfish Glass and the Ruskin Centre alongside General Office Gallery.
